How to Lose that Bloaty, Lazy Feeling After Thanksgiving Dinner

We all know what Thanksgiving dinner is like when Grandma and the rest of the family cook. Everyone gathers around the table for tasty, delicious delicacies that we only get once a year—rightfully so. Eating like this is okay once a year, but not regularly.

Unfortunately, the drawback of eating like this, even for a day or two, is that it causes lots of bloating and lethargy, making you feel like “The Walking Dead” until it wears off. Don’t you wish you could enjoy this food without being bloated or tired after eating Thanksgiving dinner? Well, you may be able to when you buy better quality foods from my affiliate partner, Thrive Market.

Why You Experience Bloat and Tiredness

One of the main reasons you feel down for the count after Thanksgiving dinner is that your body is not used to consuming all this food in one sitting on a regular basis.

You’re now presented with all types of goodies you want to eat all at once – stuffing, turkey, macaroni and cheese, green bean casserole, Aunt Lola’s homemade apple pie, cookies, ice cream, and so on.

We are like kids in a candy store wanting to taste all the good food on the table. And don’t let someone “throw down” on that peach cobbler this year.

You’ll be full and still race to the dessert table to ensure you get some of it before it’s all gone. No wonder you end up in a food coma a few hours later!

How to Cut Back On This Feeling After Dinner

You can probably discern that you’re bloated and tired after eating mainly because you’re overeating food. After all, Thanksgiving is a feast.

It is not the time of the year when we get together with family and discuss losing weight. However, that conversation may come later—probably around January when it’s resolution time.

Scientifically, you’re bloated and tired after eating because many foods you consume have too much salt, carbs, insoluble fiber, and fat. Of course, you can stop this by not overeating.

However, let’s be realistic here. How often do you get to eat special delicacies from grandma or auntie? Not often, right? So you have to eat like you’ll never eat again when it comes to such great-tasting meals.

Another way you can curb this feeling is if you purchase food from my affiliate that isn’t loaded with ingredients that cause bloat and lethargy.

Now, you can’t control what others bring for dinner. However, if you’re in charge of the cooking this year, do your family a favor and cook with healthier foods.

I know you’re probably thinking, “Who the heck wants healthy food on one of the most anticipated, unhealthy food days of the year?” I hear you. It’s not like I’m suggesting you roll out large salad bowls and tell everyone to “dig in.”

If you’re going to have an annual cheat day, you may as well nix the canned goods or boxed ingredients with those hard-to-pronounce names and opt for better ingredients from Thrive Market
