We all have been holding our breath, hoping that this pandemic will let up and allow us to get back to normal. One of the things that seems to still be on hold is the travel industry.
While there is some progress in the realm of normalcy, there are still some countries that have limitations on who can enter. So, while we are waiting for things to change, what’s the next best alternative? Mental travel.
What Is Mental Travel?
If you have been following my blog for a while, you know that I speak on a lot of metaphysical topics. So, when you read this title, you probably thought that this article would be about some trippy herb that would allow you to “travel” or some form of astral travel.
Actually, this article is about neither of those forms of travel. This form of travel is actually rather mundane. But it is still fun. And, it’s a great way to compile your bucket list so that when we all can safely travel again, we will know exactly where we want to go.
This form of mental travel that I speak of in this article is simply looking at websites and videos that allow us to visually travel to the places we want to visit.
How To Experience Mental Travel Virtually
This activity is not new for me because I use a lot of visualization techniques to manifest. So, this activity fits into my visualization processes. But I have noticed that there are companies that are starting to create sites that allow people to visit places in 3D without having to leave their couch.
One such tour is the National Museum of Natural History – Virtual Tour. Another completely phenomenal virtual tour is the tour of the Louvre.
If you want to explore more options with museums around the world, check out this article entitled “Stuck at Home? These 12 Famous Museums Offer Virtual Tours You Can Take on Your Couch”
If museums really aren’t your thing, then I have another treat for you. Air Pano is a great way for you to tour the world in 3D.
While this may not be the real thing, at least you can get a glimpse into popular places and add them to your bucket list.
I enjoy going to Brazil, U.K., Dubai, and Spain all in one click. And best of all, I get a bird’s eye view of places I hope to visit in the future.
Experiencing Mental Travel The Traditional Way
If none of these appeals to you, there is always the ability to watch travel videos. One of my favorites is Rick Steves.
He is a travel guru and offers a plethera of information on his website and on his Rick Steves Youtube Channel. Watching his YouTube channel, I escape to anywhere I want after pushing play.
How do you feel about the idea of mental travel? I personally think it is a way to take a staycation away from it all. Sometimes being able to allow my mind to wander around the world is a great way to avoid thinking about stress and other daily drama.
Try this technique for a month. Then, come back and share your experiences in the comments. By then, I will have another mystical technique for success in the next post for New Month, New You.
